From a passion for language to a family business

What happens when two 20-year-old language nerds of different nationalities, backgrounds, educations and mother tongues happen to meet at a German language school in Kassel in 1980? They fall in love, get married, start a family, and start the translation company Tecnita AB!

Björn Olofsson

Burning interest in technology and languages

Björn was born in Karlstad, Sweden in 1960, is a mechanical engineer and has a burning interest in technology and language. Has been a full member of SFÖ-SAT – the Swedish Association of Professional Translators and Authorised Interpreters – since 1991, is a member of the association’s board and on the editorial staff of the e-zine e-versättaren.
Lives in Västerås, Sweden. Family consists of Anna, five now grown children and four grandchildren. In his leisure time he enjoys working out, photography, literature and contributing actively to the special-interest organisations SFÖ-SAT and Humanisterna.

Björn is in charge of linguistic production at Tecnita AB, with Anna as his continuous discussion partner – especially in questions about Italian.

Anna Rovelli Olofsson

From translation to administration

Anna was born in Rome, Italy in 1959, is a trained translator and interpreter (Rome 1982), graphic designer of printed materials (Stockholm 2011) and diplomaed accounting clerk (Västerås 2018). She has had a curiosity about languages since childhood.

Anna has retired from translation after many years in the industry, but still manages the administration of Tecnita AB.

In her leisure time, Anna sings in two choirs that compete successfully in Sweden and internationally: Alba Show Chorus and Stockholm United. Naturally, she spends a lot of time with her children and grandchildren, and other interests include photography, photo editing and textile creation.
